This lesson will explore the CYS Space Census Operating Principles.
At the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Identify CYS Space Census operating principles and ground rules used for analyzing data and guiding program decisions for each program type.
- Apply appropriate ground rules for CDC, FCC, and SA or Y or T Center Space Census
Principles linked to Space Census Ground Rules for FCC/ CDC/ SA/MS/T
Some details within the principles (such as Ground Rules) vary for the different program Space Census (FCC, CDC, SA/MS/T). The CYS Coordinator must ensure the principles linked to the Ground Rules for each program are understood and followed.
Coordinator’s Role in Relation to Space Census Ground Rules
Often, issues related to these ground rules end up in the CYS Coordinator’s office. Have you ever had to deal with an angry parent who doesn’t understand why 3 and 4 year old children are in the same room? You feel like you have hit an asteroid belt!
As coordinator, you need to guide your program directors to have appropriate responses for issues related to these ground rules, and you need to be well versed in them yourself to respond as needed to issues that reach your office.
