Course Description: Leadership and Management for ACS/CYS Division Chiefs Course provides policy and guidance and is instrumental in leading people, managing change and thinking strategically. This course is designed to explore and strengthen leadership and management skills necessary to manage garrison Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) ACS & CYS Divisions. Major topics include customer service, trends, leveraging resources, innovation, strategic thinking, and change management. Students will examine their own leadership styles and organizations to ensure knowledge is applied to real-life challenges.
Course Objectives: Apply systems thinking skills to program management, identify and apply service delivery strategies, manage financial resources, manage workforce development process, apply marketing strategies, and conduct and analyze an organizational assessment.
- Target Audience: ACS & CYS Division Chiefs.
- IACET CEUs: 5 units.
- ACE Recommended Credits: 3 semester hours in Leadership or Management, upper division.
- Prerequisites: Family and MWR Orientation Course (Online), Family and MWR Basic Management Course(Online), Operation Excellence – Online or Classroom Customer Service Training, Applied Financial Planning Suite (Online) (Income Statement Analysis; Breakeven Analysis; Retail Sales Accountability;Forecasting), Family and MWR Budgeting in the NAF System (Online); Family and MWR Budgeting and APF Support (Online); Situational Leadership II (Virtual) and Introduction to the Family and MWR Delivery System (Online) are required prior to being selected.
