Candace Iavarone is the new CYS Coordinator at JBLM. She was a student in the Pilot of the CYS Program Managers course last September!
Candace has been with CYS for over 16 years – she started her career at JBLM:
“I literally fell into working for CYS and was instantly hooked and haven’t looked back since. I started as a CYPA and FCC Provider, then Assistant Director, Facility Director, Trainer, Outreach Services Director, Administrator and now Coordinator and I am looking forward to continuing to build the bench and provide high quality childcare to our patrons.”
She has some great advice for new CYS Professionals:
“Each of us comes into the field for a variety of reasons, and we come with different strengths and experiences. Finding a mentor in the field is a must, someone that can help shape and guide us. It’s important to be honest about expectations- but eager, remain a learner, create a network and live and learn.”
